Several of my friends and family members have committed suicide, including a few who did so in ways where it wasn’t apparent that it was suicide so the cause of death was listed as something else. So far, I have never had to explain to a child this situation; it’s hard enough explaining it to an adult family member or friend.
If you, a family member, or friend is considering suicide or has suicidal thoughts or feelings, please seek help. I would rather lose a friendship by getting a friend help than lose it by suicide.
