AS ALWAYS, CHECK PRICES BEFORE ORDERING as sales can end or change before I update them. Also, some sales only have so many items or keys available for purchase so the sale ends as soon as they run out of items or keys. None of the links below are affiliate links!
Week 25 of Gaming Sunday Week – will do my best to try and update as needed. The quote below is from my first Gaming Sunday Week post: Gaming Sunday Week of September 30, 2018.
While I will post gaming stuff (RPGs, Wargames, Board Games, Card Games, Computer/Console Games) at other times during the week, I decided to start doing a Gaming Sunday Weekly Post. Among other things, it will include Bundle of Holding (https://bundleofholding.com – generally 3 – 5 bundles active at a time) and Humble Bundle (https://www.humblebundle.com/ – generally around 5 – 6 bundles active, not including the tons of other sale items that aren’t bundles and a number of bundles that exceeds what I can add here without making it longer than it’s worth) items in this post; some of which won’t be gaming related. I will update the post during the week as bundles go off sale and new bundles come on sale. I won’t be including all of the sale items on Humble Bundle as it can easily exceed a reasonable amount. The good news is you can save an item that has been on sale to a Wish List and you will be notified if and when it comes on sale again. For example, this game was recently on sale: https://www.humblebundle.com/store/search?sort=bestselling&search=mordor – it requires a birthdate if you click on the only game in the list; the sale is over, but you can add it to your Wish List.
I will also include any crowdsources that are gaming related, from Kickstarter, Patreon, IndieGoGo, GoFundMe, etc. For example, The Fantasy Trip by Steve Jackson on https://thefantasytrip.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders which was previously a Kickstarter project: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sjgames/the-fantasy-trip-old-school-roleplaying.
Axis and Allies – Zombie Edition:
Thanks to Noble Knight – https://www.nobleknight.com/P/2147736548/Axis-and-Allies—Zombies for sending me an e-mail about this latest version of Axis and Allies, a World War II board game with numerous editions, including unofficial ones on sites like: http://www.historicalboardgaming.com/ – see http://www.historicalboardgaming.com/Custom-Maps-Games_c_90.html for some examples.
Here’s the official Avalon Hill (AH) site for the game: http://avalonhill.wizards.com/games/axis-and-allies/zombies. And here’s AH’s Rules PDF for the game: http://media.wizards.com/2018/ah/AAZ-Rulebook.pdf
BackerKit: https://www.backerkit.com/ (for creators and backers of projects) If you backed a project, you can find it at https://www.backerkit.com/are_you_a_backer and some of the companies allow you to pre-order even if you didn’t back a game.
It’s one of several pledge managers used by the different crowdfunding sites. CrowdOx – https://crowdox.com/ and Pledge Manager – https://signin.pledgemanager.com are other choices made by some campaigns. Additional pledge managers include Gamefound.com – https://gamefound.com/, FluentPM.com – https://www.fluentpm.com/, and Jet Backer – https://platform.jetbacker.com/. mentioned in this post: Interesting Articles about Pledge Managers.
The Fantasy Trip Adventures BackerKit: https://the-fantasy-trip-adventures.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders, and here’s the Kickstarter campaign for it: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/warehouse23/the-fantasy-trip-adventures?ref=user_menu. This is different from the earlier Kickstarter campaign and they already have a new Kickstarter campaign going. Here’s the old one, but it’s no longer available: https://thefantasytrip.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders/ – ended November 1, 2018. This is a follow-up to The Fantasy Trip Kickstarter project: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sjgames/the-fantasy-trip-old-school-roleplaying.
World of Warcraft Diary: if you go to https://thewowdiary.backerkit.com/, it will include the following link for those who didn’t back it: https://thewowdiary.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders. You can also view the campaign at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/whenitsready/the-world-of-warcraft-diary-0
The World of Warcraft Diary
If you missed Kickstarter’s most-funded nonfiction book in history, you can order it here! The WoW Diary was written by the game’s first level designer and covers the story behind making Vanilla WoW. With over 130 behind-the-scenes images and 336 full-color pages, it is the must-have book about game development.

We have been a big member of the board game and trading card game community over the last 3 years.

This 3-minute vignette is now my second favorite crowd-funding “ask” video ever. Why is it my second favorite? Well, nothing will likely ever surpass this video (and the four that came after it) from Star Trek Continues‘ “Kirkstarter 2.0.” But the reason this Convergence video gets the secondprise (get it?), is because it has so much fun while asking folks to donate.

Thousand Year Old Vampire Kickstarter RPG Campaign: Late Backers accepted (still available as of April 21, 2019) – https://shop.trycelery.com/page/d3060069-61df-4789-a974-f4e1fc9a499d; original campaign https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/timh/thousand-year-old-vampire-a-roleplaying-game Ended November 16, 2018 1:15 AM CST. Fully funded: $37,102
The game mechanics are simple and intuitive. Play progresses semi-randomly through a book of Prompts which let you explore your vampire’s wants and needs, resolve problems, and chart the decline into senescence. Play can happen entirely within the character sheet or can become a journaling activity–both work equally well.
Vampires, for the purposes of this game, can mean nearly anything that is functionally immortal, doesn’t like daylight, and preys on humans for sustenance. I like Montague Summers-type vampires myself, but this system is designed to be flexible.
All you need is the book or PDF, a d10, and a d6. This is a solo game for you to play in lonely places wrapped in darkness, but can be played multiplayer if you like. Play can take from one to three hours, depending on how you go about things.
Chibi Siblings of Conflict Kickstarter Campaign: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/674003445/chibi-siblings-of-conflict-miniatures. Ended November 15, 2018. $12,051 backers. Fully funded! Leaving up temporarily. Late Backers link: https://app.crowdox.com/projects/674003445/chibi-siblings-of-conflict-miniatures (still available as of May 12, 2019).
Americana RPG Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sandypuggames/americana-1: Campaign ended, but you can follow if you want to order and missed the cut-off. They will be doing a video update in the near future – will link to it once they add it. Still waiting on a pledge manager (Backerkit, etc.) to show up as of May 12, 2019.
Americana RPG is a new RPG being developed by Sandy Pug Games: http://www.sandypuggames.com/. They started a Kickstarter campaign at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sandypuggames/americana-1. I added it to Gaming Sunday Week of October 21, 2018. Fully funded ($12,574 pledged of $6,800 goal) as of November 1, 2018 and ended Thursday, November 1, 2018 9:54 AM CDT. You can follow along if you were interested and didn’t back it. Here are some more links for Sandy Pug Games link for all of their DriveThru RPG (DTRPG) products: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse/pub/7386/Sandy-Pug-Games. You can also follow them on Twitter at: https://twitter.com/SandyPugGames and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/SandyPugGames/.
It’s an unusual concept for an RPG (“A game of teenage rebellion and murder in a fantastical 50s that never was” – from the Kickstarter campaign), but you can get a free quick preview from DriveThru RPG (DTRPG): https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/256782/Americana–Preview-Quickplay-Pack?manufacturers_id=7386. You can also download the file at https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1lpbN1YtyQ9J2yhGLtEfi43JjI9PqD9Hd.
From the DTRPG link:
Americana is an RPG set in a fantasy, inclusive 1950s small town, somewhere in the United States. Your best friend is dead, and you think it’s murder. Gather their other friends, follow the clues and investigate your town full of magic, wonder, gangs and risks to track down the killer and bring them to justice. Take control of one of 6 archetypes (Jock, Nerd, Outsider, New Kid, Artist, Royal) each with their own unique strengths and abilities, build Your Dead Friend, the victim of this murder, whose abilities and inspiration will aid you in discovering the truth behind their grisly fate, and build an incredible, magical town full of fantasy and wonder to explore.
The game takes place in a 50s vastly different than the one we’re used to. For a start, the world is full of magic. Orcs and Dwarves are going steady at the drive-in, Elves and Dragons are taking a trip to Look-out Point and your principal is a kindly skeleton that fought against Charlemagne. The world is also massively more progressive than the 50s ever was, systemic oppression of marginalized people is an alien concept in the world of Americana.
This is a free quickplay set that shows off some of the systems and world of Americana and hopefully get you excited for the full product. It includes just about everything you need to get started with your own murder mystery – some small lore details, character sheets and a stripped back version of the full rules.
If this catches your interest, Americana is already 100% funded on Kickstarter, so head on over and check out some of our reward tiers and stretch goals – which include a super sentai, power rangers inspired twist on the core setting and rules!
Bunnies and Barrows 3rd Edition Kickstarter: Campaign has ended; should be a Backerkit added in the near future; may be a bit as they are going to conventions soon. I posted about it at https://upsdownsfamilyhistory.wordpress.com/2018/10/09/bunnies-and-barrows-3rd-edition-rpg-kickstarter/. Fully funded with over $36,403 (785 backers) pledged for a $12,000 campaign. Leaving the link below active for now. Campaign ended, but will keep it up for when they open the Backerkit portion. It’s on BackerKit if you pledged, but don’t see a link for late backers as of May 12, 2019.
You can find the Kickstarter campaign for 3rd edition Bunnies and Burrows RPG at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/froggodgames/bunnies-and-burrows. It ends October 25, 2018 1:01 AM.
Have you ever wanted to play a role-playing game (RPG) where you were a rabbit, raccoon, squirrel, chipmunk, skunk, porcupine, opossum, jackrabbit, or armadillo? If so, Bunnies and Burrows (B&B) 3rd edition is the RPG for you. There is a Wikipedia article on the earlier editions of B&B: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bunnies_%26_Burrows.
The latest incarnation of Bunnies and Burrows was taken over by another gaming company that released a B&B Light version https://froggodgames.com/frogs/product-category/bunnies-burrows/ (free PDF also available on DTRPG: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/226680/Bunnies–Burrows-Light which is also the gaming company behind the Kickstarter campaign.
DNA of the Greatest Warriors in History Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/altavilla/dna-of-the-greatest-warriors-in-history – not gaming related although an argument could be made that warriors are RPG and Wargaming related. Goal (all or nothing): Campaign ended: Amazingly this project was funded since November 24, 2018, it was a long way from getting funded:

Death Wears Bunny Slippers (DWBS): https://www.patreon.com/dwbs. Occasional F-bombs and other profanity in the videos. I mention DWBS on occasion as he’s an interesting guy and it’s on my Bucket List to own an old missile silo if I ever get the chance. If nothing else, I hope to visit his silo one day.
