For Weirdness Wednesday, March 20, 2019, I decided on the Geocities-izer – http://www.wonder-tonic.com/geocitiesizer/. You can enter any URL and it will create a Geocities style version. I tried it several times with my blog (it varied widely from very readable to a nightmare of color schemes, depending on what it choose when I copy/pasted my blog URL): http://www.wonder-tonic.com/geocitiesizer/content.php?theme=2&music=1&url=upsdownsfamilyhistory.wordpress.com
I remember GeoCities – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahoo!_GeoCities. I used to have a couple of GeoCities websites, but lost them when Yahoo! took them down. That was before I knew about the Wayback Machine – https://archive.org/ or I would have saved the sites there.
