Wreck of USS Wasp (CV-7) Found

Yesterday, I saw an article that mentioned they were looking for the wreck of the USS Wasp (CV-7). It was a very long article and it wasn’t until near the end, they mentioned finding the shipwreck. You can learn more about the USS Wasp at https://www.paulallen.com/uss-wasp/ or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Wasp_(CV-7). Here is a good reference: http://www.navsource.org/archives/02/07.htm. The shipwreck was found by the same ship, R/V Petrel – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RV_Petrel, that found a number of other shipwrecks: Wreck of USS Hornet Found, First Anniversary of Finding the Wreck of USS Lexington March 4, 2019, and others that I will be posting about in the future.

There are several videos available, but here’s one from the Petrel‘s YouTube channel: Wreckage of USS Wasp Located by R/V Petrel in the Coral Sea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZ6A5fQr0wM (about 1:34 minutes long). Other videos can be found: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=USS+Wasp. Look for the ones about CV-7 and not other ships named Wasp.
