Featured Blogger of the Week – Applegate Genealogy February 8, 2019

I started Following Applegate Genealogyhttps://applegategenealogy.wordpress.com/ around late November or early December 2018. At least my first re-blog of a post by her was this one: Feeling Grateful — Applegate Genealogy (I posted it on December 11, 2018; she posted it originally on November 23, 2018). I have never met her and the only exchanges have been through our blogs and Twitter.

Some things I like about her blog are genealogy, North Carolina (my paternal grandparents’ home state), her IT knowledge, Wordless Wednesdays, DNA, and introducing me to Ko-fi – https://ko-fi.com/.

Good post on DNA: https://applegategenealogy.wordpress.com/2019/02/04/dna-discrepancies/. One of the easiest to understand I have come across. Another good post on German handwriting: https://applegategenealogy.wordpress.com/2019/02/03/shelved-tips-and-tricks-of-deciphering-german-handwriting/. I will be using it if I ever find my maternal grandfather’s family roots in Germany. Sharing it with a friend who has his own line of German roots.

A list of blog posts where I mentioned her blog: Tags (Category should match although with Category I went with Applegate Genealogy): https://upsdownsfamilyhistory.wordpress.com/tag/applegate-genealogy-blog/.

Thank you for everything! I’m just catching up this week–it’s been a rough weekend–and this means a lot. Thank you again
