Has Your Blog Been Splogged Or Scraped?

I hadn’t heard the term splogger  until today. Seems a splogger has been splogging other bloggers content; it was mentioned on several DNA Facebook groups. I am familiar with the concept as my old blog was scraped years ago. I am not sure if there’s a definition difference between scraper and splogger, but scraping was the term it was called back then. Wikipedia to the rescue: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog_scraping (includes both scraping and splog terminology). Splog is a mix of SPam + bLOG.

In my case, I found out about the scraper during a general search on my least favorite search engine. I don’t know if the site is still up as I lost track of the site’s URL. I was trying to find an old post and used a term that wasn’t very common when the scraped blog popped up high in the search results.

You may want to check out several search engines to see if any of your content has been splogged or scraped.
