If you are not familiar with the Carolina Reaper, it’s one of the hottest things out there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carolina_Reaper. World Book of Records recorded it in 2017 at 1,641,183 Scoville Heat Units (SHU); Wikipedia has it with an estimated average of 1,569,300 on average SHU. For comparison, a Habanero – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Habanero has around 100,000 – 350,000 SHU. The Wikipedia article indicates they are working on something even hotter.
