Gaming Sunday Week of November 18, 2018

Updated November 24, 2018: made changes as needed and will be adding a new post sometime on November 25, 2018 (tomorrow) as I started it today so I will only have to make some changes to it; updated November 23, 2018: minor changes as needed; updated November 20, 2018: see also New Bundle of Holding, Fanatical, and Humble Bundle Deals November 20, 2018 as those haven’t been added below. Also added DTRPG Sale that ends on November 26, 2018 and removed bundles or sales that ended.

AS ALWAYS, CHECK PRICES BEFORE ORDERING as sales can end or change before I update them. Also, some sales only have so many items or keys available for purchase so the sale ends as soon as they run out of items or keys. None of the links below are affiliate links!

Week 8 of Gaming Sunday Week – will do my best to try and update daily or as needed. The quote below is from my first Gaming Sunday Week post: Gaming Sunday Week of September 30, 2018.

While I will post gaming stuff (RPGs, Wargames, Board Games, Card Games, Computer/Console Games) at other times during the week, I decided to start doing a Gaming Sunday Weekly Post. Among other things, it will include Bundle of Holding ( – generally 3 – 5 bundles active at a time) and Humble Bundle ( – generally around 5 – 6 bundles active, not including the tons of other sale items that aren’t bundles and a number of bundles that exceeds what I can add here without making it longer than it’s worth) items in this post; some of which won’t be gaming related. I will update the post during the week as bundles go off sale and new bundles come on sale. I won’t be including all of the sale items on Humble Bundle as it can easily exceed a reasonable amount. The good news is you can save an item that has been on sale to a Wish List and you will be notified if and when it comes on sale again. For example, this game was recently on sale: – it requires a birthdate if you click on the only game in the list; the sale is over, but you can add it to your Wish List. I am a fan of Sid Meier’s Civilization computer games: (note, not all of the games are for Sid Meier’s Civ series (about half of the games in the link are for Sid’s Civ series (ranging from Civilization III to Civilization VI – some are on sale and some aren’t).

I will also include any crowdsources that are gaming related, from Kickstarter, Patreon, IndieGoGo, GoFundMe, etc. For example, The Fantasy Trip by Steve Jackson on which was previously a Kickstarter project:

Axis and Allies – Zombie Edition:

Thanks to Noble Knight –—Zombies for sending me an e-mail about this latest version of Axis and Allies, a World War II board game with numerous editions, including unofficial ones on sites like: – see for some examples.

Here’s the official Avalon Hill (AH) site for the game: And here’s AH’s Rules PDF for the game:

BackerKit: (for creators and backers of projects) If you backed a project, you can find it at and some of the companies allow you to pre-order even if you didn’t back a game.

The Fantasy Trip BackerKit: – ended November 1, 2018. This is a follow-up to The Fantasy Trip Kickstarter project: Keeping it here for now as an example. Working on trying to find a good replacement as several should be showing up in Backerkit soon.

World of Warcraft Diary: if you go to, it will include the following link for those who didn’t back it: You can also view the campaign at

The World of Warcraft Diary

If you missed Kickstarter’s most-funded nonfiction book in history, you can order it here! The WoW Diary was written by the game’s first level designer and covers the story behind making Vanilla WoW. With over 130 behind-the-scenes images and 336 full-color pages, it is the must-have book about game development.

Brief blurb from the above link:

We are a small board game store based in Inverness, Scotland.

We have been a big member of the board game and trading card game community over the last 3 years.

We have seen our share of hardships and issues in setting up the store. after 3 years of operating we have now hit a tipping point of what to do next.

We are looking to secure fund for refurbishment and upgrade of the gaming space and to help us invest in developing our stock range.

Humble Bundle Bundles Available (as of November 24, 2018) – see first link at top of post for additional Humble Bundles not listed below – also check on Humble Bundle’s Facebook page: as they are good about adding sale items that aren’t part of the highlighted bundles. I won’t be including Bundle deals that are political in nature, with rare exceptions for parodies or satire that are no longer alive,  or offered by groups that I do not support for various reasons, or if the chosen nonprofit is one that I do not agree with their mission. The good news is you have this option if you don’t like the nonprofit chosen by the organizer: ” If you would like to support a different charity, select a new one from our database of thousands.”

On Sale (you can filter it a number of different ways, including Top Discounts, Bestselling, Alphabetically, Release Date, New Releases, Genres, Platform, DRM):

Sid Meier’s Civilization (ranging from Civilization III to VI and a few others); some on sale at the moment on Humble Bundle, also available at, but I like the Civ series of games): It was on sale through October 28, 2018 at the Civilization Sale website:

Indiegogo Projects: mostly Gaming related:

Convergence – a Star Trek Fan Film Indiegogo Campaign: Ended November 3, 2018. $7,385 of $5,500 pledged (fully  backed as of November 2, 2018). Will keep up pending updates on Backerkit.
According to, this is the secondprise (their word, not mine) “ask” video they have ever seen:
This 3-minute vignette is now my second favorite crowd-funding “ask” video ever.  Why is it my second favorite?  Well, nothing will likely ever surpass this video (and the four that came after it) from Star Trek Continues‘ “Kirkstarter 2.0.”  But the reason this Convergence video gets the secondprise (get it?), is because it has so much fun while asking folks to donate.
They recommend bookmarking it if you plan on any sort of crowdfunding/sourcing campaign.

Fairytale the Roleplaying Game Indiegogo Project: I gave more information in this blog post: Fairytale the Roleplaying Game on Indiegogo. Appears to end in a month (so roughly November 11, 2018, will update if the date is earlier or later. The project owner shows Oulu, Finland for location. Ended November 9, 2018 unfunded. Hopefully, they will bring it back as it sounded like a promising RPG.

Kickstarter Projects – Gaming Related for the most part, but will include non-gaming related items at times (generally, shipping costs are NOT included if you back a project – so factor those into your budget):

Kickstarter Newest Campaigns:

Chimera Comics Cellar Door Sci-Fi and Horror Graphic Novel Anthology: (sci-fi and horror collection, parental guidance advised). $8,477 pledged of $11,000 by 160 backers of campaign (as of November 23, 2018). Not mentioned in the article is the Live Stream October 31, 2018 about the campaign; you can get a free preview (link is a bit down the Kickstarter page, or try – link shows as which redirects to the Mail Chimp link I added). If you pledged $20 or more in the first 72 hours of the campaign, then you will get an exclusive item, 8.5″ x 11″ print (shipping is another $2 for U.S. addresses):

It’s so important for Kickstarters to have a strong start. Nothing draws a crowd like a crowd, and a lot of pledges in the first few days tells Kickstarter this is a project worth endorsing. Plus it helps us access special Stretch Goals and Milestone Bonuses to make this project even better.

That’s why we’re offering an Early Bird Bonus. This Kickstarter Exclusive Art print features the surrealist horror of visionary artist and “Cellar Door” creator Samuel Diaz. And this bonus is yours FREE but only if you back in the first three days of the campaign.

If you pledge $99 or more, you get your name in one of the stories.

You can sign up for information. When I signed up a while back, today’s e-mail included a link to 25% of the comic as a lure to get people to pledge (link included above in the first paragraph).

Thousand Year Old Vampire Kickstarter RPG Campaign: Late Backers accepted (link fixed) Ended November 16, 2018 1:15 AM CST. Fully funded: $37,102 pledged by 1,423 backers of $500 goal. Several F-bombs in the Kickstarter description although that’s because one of the items available if you back at $35 or higher is a LARP book with it in the title.

The game mechanics are simple and intuitive. Play progresses semi-randomly through a book of Prompts which let you explore your vampire’s wants and needs, resolve problems, and chart the decline into senescence. Play can happen entirely within the character sheet or can become a journaling activity–both work equally well.

Vampires, for the purposes of this game, can mean nearly anything that is functionally immortal, doesn’t like daylight, and preys on humans for sustenance. I like Montague Summers-type vampires myself, but this system is designed to be flexible.

All you need is the book or PDF, a d10, and a d6. This is a solo game for you to play in lonely places wrapped in darkness, but can be played multiplayer if you like. Play can take from one to three hours, depending on how you go about things.

Chibi Siblings of Conflict Kickstarter Campaign: Ended November 15, 2018. $12,051 pledged of $2,300 goal; 181 backers. Fully funded! Leaving up temporarily.

Leagues of Cthulhu: Codicil: November 8, 2018.  Fully funded. Keeping up pending Backerkit or other updates.

Niobe Returns in Erathune Kickstarter Campaign: Keeping up pending Backerkit or other updates. $64,436 pledged of $21,500 goal 940 backers (as of November 4, 2018) ended November 4, 2018

Americana RPG Kickstarter: Video stream tomorrow (October 29th): Campaign ended, but you can follow if you want to order and missed the cut-off. They will be doing a video update in the near future – will link to it once they add it.

Live stream – Oct 29 at 12:00pm CDT

Fully funded ($12,574 pledged of $6,800 goal) as of November 1, 2018 and ended Thursday, November 1, 2018 9:54 AM CDT. There is  one stretch goal remaining: $12,500. You can follow along if you were interested and didn’t back it. Here are some more links for Sandy Pug Games link for all of their DriveThru RPG (DTRPG) products: You can also follow them on Twitter at: and on Facebook at Added an update post as the company did a Live Stream on October 29th, 12 Noon U.S. Central Time: Americana Kickstarter Live Stream October 29, 2018 12 Noon U.S. Central Time.

It’s an unusual concept for an RPG (“A game of teenage rebellion and murder in a fantastical 50s that never was” – from the Kickstarter campaign), but you can get a free quick preview from DriveThru RPG (DTRPG):–Preview-Quickplay-Pack?manufacturers_id=7386. You can also download the file at

From the DTRPG link:

Americana is an RPG set in a fantasy, inclusive 1950s small town, somewhere in the United States. Your best friend is dead, and you think it’s murder. Gather their other friends, follow the clues and investigate your town full of magic, wonder, gangs and risks to track down the killer and bring them to justice. Take control of one of 6 archetypes (Jock, Nerd, Outsider, New Kid, Artist, Royal) each with their own unique strengths and abilities, build Your Dead Friend, the victim of this murder, whose abilities and inspiration will aid you in discovering the truth behind their grisly fate, and build an incredible, magical town full of fantasy and wonder to explore.

The game takes place in a 50s vastly different than the one we’re used to. For a start, the world is full of magic. Orcs and Dwarves are going steady at the drive-in, Elves and Dragons are taking a trip to Look-out Point and your principal is a kindly skeleton that fought against Charlemagne. The world is also massively more progressive than the 50s ever was, systemic oppression of marginalized people is an alien concept in the world of Americana.

This is a free quickplay set that shows off some of the systems and world of Americana and hopefully get you excited for the full product. It includes just about everything you need to get started with your own murder mystery – some small lore details, character sheets and a stripped back version of the full rules.

If this catches your interest, Americana is already 100% funded on Kickstarter, so head on over and check out some of our reward tiers and stretch goals – which include a super sentai, power rangers inspired twist on the core setting and rules!

Bunnies and Barrows 3rd Edition Kickstarter: Campaign has ended; should be a Backerkit added in the near future; may be a bit as they are going to conventions soon. I posted about it at Fully funded with over $36,403 (785 backers) pledged for a $12,000 campaign. Leaving the link below active for now. Campaign ended, but will keep it up for when they open the Backerkit portion.

You can find the Kickstarter campaign for 3rd edition Bunnies and Burrows RPG at It ends October 25, 2018 1:01 AM.

Have you ever wanted to play a role-playing game (RPG) where you were a rabbit,  raccoon, squirrel, chipmunk, skunk, porcupine, opossum, jackrabbit, or armadillo? If so, Bunnies and Burrows (B&B) 3rd edition is the RPG for you. There is a Wikipedia article on the earlier editions of B&B:

Bunnies and Burrows has been a niche market since its first introduction in 1976 (2nd edition still available as a PDF on DriveThru RPG/DTRPG for $5.00, but it has stayed popular in its niche. I have never played the game, but it was put out by one of my favorite gaming companies, Fantasy Games Unlimited (FGU):, who also published: Aftermath! (post-World War III RPG), Bushido (Feudal Japan RPG originally published by two other gaming companies), Chivalry and Sorcery (C&S, fantasy RPG, 1st and 2nd editions published by FGU with 3rd and 4th editions published by two other gaming companies – FGU also published numerous supplements that added new elements to the game), Daredevils (pulp magazine RPG), Merc (modern mercenary/counter-insurgency RPG), Privateers and Gentlemen (piracy themed RPG), Space Opera (sci-fi RPG), Swordbearer (fantasy RPG, originally published by another gaming company), Villains and Vigilantes (V&V, superhero RPG), plus a host of other RPGs and board games. FGU published a second edition several years later. The 2nd edition was later modified by Steve Jackson Games and published as a GURPS supplement which is still available as a PDF and–Burrows for $7.99 on both sites.

The latest incarnation of Bunnies and Burrows was taken over by another gaming company that released a B&B Light version (free PDF also available on DTRPG–Burrows-Light which is also the gaming company behind the Kickstarter campaign.
