This is a shout-out to my mother who would have been 88 today (November 15, 2018) if she was still alive. Since she’s buried 800+ miles away, I have to rely on graving sites like BillionGraves – https://billiongraves.com/supporting-record/Iva-R-Hartman/99532440 and Find-A-Grave – https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/762560/iva-ruth-hartman to visit her grave. If you are so inclined, please leave a flower or token on her and my Dad, and niece (both below) Find-A-Grave memorials. Big thank you to those who photographed their headstones on both graving sites.
I don’t have any photos of her as she disliked having her picture taken. I lost it in a move many years ago, but she gave me a photo of her as a gift shortly before she died. I don’t know if my sister has any photos of her as Mom tended to be the one taking the pictures so she wouldn’t have to be in the photos.
Dad’s birthday was October 26 and he would have been 89. He’s buried in a different section of the same national cemetery; BillionGraves – https://billiongraves.com/supporting-record/Fredrick-Willard-Smith/99532426 and Find-A-Grave – https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/85161383/fredrick-willard-smith.
My niece, Sabrina Smith, is also buried in the same cemetery. BillionGraves – https://billiongraves.com/supporting-record/Sabrina-Kay-Smith/99532429 and Find-A-Grave – https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/2962932/sabrina-kay-smith. She was killed by a hit-and-run driver who wasn’t caught. She’s in a different section than her grandparents.
