Second Round November 2018 DNA Sales

Expect an update on November 18, 2018 once Dante Labs announces its Black Friday Sale.

Updated November 18, 2018: Dante Labs announces $199 Black Friday Week sale. Likewise, Veritas Genetics offers 48 hour sale starting 9 AM (Eastern Time) for $199. These are both great sale prices as these are full DNA tests which can potentially be used for transfers to some of the major DNA testing companies.

Updated November 15, 2018: Added Geno 2.0 Next on GroupOn as it hit $49.99.

Dante Labs: https://us.dantelabs.com/ Black Friday Week Sale $199.00.

Veritas Genetics: https://www.veritasgenetics.com/ $199.00 – 48 hour sale price starts 9 A.M. Eastern Time, November 19, 2018.

FamilyTree DNA (FTDNA), FindMyPastDNA, and HomeDNA’s GPS Origins are now having Thanksgiving/Black Friday Sales as are Best Buy and Target. Haven’t added here, but added to Current November 2018 DNA Sales information for Black Friday Sneak Peek Sales for CVS, Walgreens, and Target. This is on top of the sales mentioned in First Round of November 2018 DNA Sales.

Best Buy, they offer the 23andMe kit only for $29.99 and the kit + lab fees for $69.00; regular price $99.00 (ethnicity and matching only, no health reports) – https://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpage.jsp?st=23-and-me&_dyncharset=UTF-8&id=pcat17071&type=page&sc=Global&cp=1&nrp=&sp=&qp=&list=n&af=true&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960&keys=keys. I did not find a Black Friday/Cyber Monday DNA sale for Best Buy.

FamilyTree DNA (FTDNA) – https://www.familytreedna.com/ Sale ends November 22, 2018.

Family Finder sale price $49, regular price $79
Family Finder + Y-37 sale price $143, regular price $248 (males only)
Family Finder + mtFull Sequence sale price $183, regular price $278
Family Finder + Y-67 + mtFull Sequence (males only) sale price $362, regular price $546

Y-DNA Tests (males only):
Y-37 sale price $99, regular price $169
Y-67 sale price $179, regular price $268
Y-111 sale price $219, regular price $359
Big Y-500 sale price $499, regular price $649

mtDNA Tests:
mtDNA Plus regular price $89 (not on sale)
mtFull Sequence sale price $139, regular price $199

FindMyPastDNA (they use LivingDNA kits): https://www.findmypast.com/ancestry-dna-testing/ – sale price $89; regular price $99 as of mid afternoon of November 14, 2018 although it’s $79.00 on LivingDNALivingDNA kits available on Amazon (temporarily unavailable on Amazon as of November 14, 2018), https://www.amazon.com/3-Living-DNA-Ancestry-Test/dp/B07HWVRPNZ/ – out of stock on Amazon since mid-October 2018 – checking daily, regular price $99.00 + $4.99 shipping. Added it to Sales Section because they accept free limited transfers from other DNA testing companies.

Geno 2.0 Next (GroupOn): https://www.groupon.com/deals/n-helix-ancestry-kit When I did my daily check on GroupOn for National Geographic (Nat Geo) Geno 2.0 Next test, it was on sale for $49.99; usual price on GroupOn for this test is $65.00. This is the same test you can find on Helixhttps://www.helix.com/shop/national-geographic-geno-2-next-generation/, Nat GeoNational Geographic, and Amazonhttps://www.amazon.com/National-Geographic-DNA-Test-Kit/dp/B07BSKZFDD/ with prices on those sites at $69.00 – $99.99 right now.  There is no indication on GroupOn on when the sale ends. It wasn’t there yesterday (November 14, 2018) as it was still $65.00. This is a great price for the test. It’s not as useful for genealogy purposes as 23andMe, AncestryDNA, FamilyTree DNA (FTDNA), LivingDNA/FindMyPastDNA, or MyHeritageDNA, but I believe at some point, either Helix or a third party vendor will figure out a way to make it useful for genealogy purposes. It does a fairly deep Y-DNA (males only) and a basic to medium level mtDNA. It doesn’t provide matching yet.  Added to Current November 2018 DNA Sales.

FYI, Geno 2.0 Next rarely gets priced this low. I have only seen one other time when it hit close to $49.99 as it tends to go for around $69.99 on Nat Geo and Helix on sale and $99.99 on Amazon and about the same on Nat Geo and Helix when not on sale. The test is done by Helix so you will need a Helix and a Nat Geo account. If you already have a Helix DNA kit, you don’t need another one, but this is almost $20.00 cheaper than what you can order it from Helix or Nat Geo and almost $50.00 cheaper than Amazon.

HomeDNA / GPS Origins Ancestry Testhttps://homedna.com/product/gps-origins $199.95 (looks at over 80,000 autosomal markers). Sometimes available on GroupOn. Promo Code EARLYBIRD18 sale price $89.00 + free shipping.

Target Black Friday Sneak Peek Sale:https://bestblackfriday.com/ads/target-black-friday/page-11#ad_view. They are offering 23andMe basic Ancestry/Ethnicity kit (the $99.00 one) for $59.00 with a bonus free $10.00 Target gift card thrown in. Lab fee is included. Learn more at https://bestblackfriday.com/deal/143634. DON’T CLICK ON BUY NOW unless you are wanting the current sale price of  $69.00 until the Black Friday sale kicks in.
