As part of my new Mississippi Monday, I went looking for things to do in my hometown or home county. There are many things that are no longer available, like the original Marine Life, https://www.pinterest.com/pin/349310514837613432/, a place I only visited the gift shop once with plans to visit it at a later time. Hurricane Katrina happened before I got the chance. As I kept looking, I came across the Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum in Gulfport. According to its Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/SCOTTMCMRM/, it was founded in 2015. You can see its website at https://www.mcmrcm.org/. If you are in the area, it’s located at 504 Pass Road (or East Pass Road): https://email@example.com,-89.0594532,3a,60y,7.38h,71.32t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s5L7nPQE05GL-3TmH4v5pBA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656. It’s on my Bucket List of places to visit. It has the largest Lego railroad display in the state with over 2 million pieces. I do have a connection to railroads as my maternal grandfather worked on the railroad from federal census records. I also owned a few train sets over the years growing up before I knew about my maternal grandfather’s connection to railroads.
