via Bloody Wet Day — Day by Day.
My worst day for rain walking to class was a chem lab (Chemistry I) back in 1979 during a hurricane at Mississippi State University. We were the only state university in the state to stay open. It was either a Tuesday or Thursday as those were chem lab days. On the first day of Chem I, the chem professor made it clear that missing a chem lab was to be avoided at all costs. I slogged through knee deep water as I didn’t have a car and thankfully by the time the hurricane plowed as far north as Miss. State, it wasn’t much more than a heavy rain storm with strong gale force winds. About half the class showed up. I was soaked as can be, but I was there.
