While volunteering at Midwest Historical and Genealogical Society – http://mhgswichita.org/wp/, talk turned to places to visit in Kansas that were unlikely to be known to those who didn’t live in an area. A friend mentioned the Paul Boyer Museum in Belleville, Kansas. A quick search on my least favorite search engine found several links: http://www.kansastravel.org/boyergallery.htm, https://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/16332, https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g38566-d6701069-Reviews-Boyer_Museum_of_Animated_Carvings-Belleville_Kansas.html, and http://spacesarchives.org/explore/collection/environment/paul-boyer-boyer-museum/. According to my friend, Paul Boyer is known for his sense of humor.
I haven’t been to the museum, but it’s on my Bucket List. If you plan on being in the area – https://www.google.com/maps?ll=39.828959,-97.630952&z=15&t=m&hl=en&gl=US&mapclient=embed&q=39%C2%B049%2744.3%22N+97%C2%B037%2751.4%22W@39.828959,-97.630952, you can call and see about visiting the museum.
