Week 2 of Gaming Sunday Week – will do my best to try and update daily or as needed. The quote below is from my first Gaming Sunday Week post: Gaming Sunday Week of September 30, 2018.

While I will post gaming stuff (RPGs, Wargames, Board Games, Card Games, Computer/Console Games) at other times during the week, I decided to start doing a Gaming Sunday Weekly Post. Among other things, it will include Bundle of Holding (https://bundleofholding.com – generally 3 – 5 bundles active at a time) and Humble Bundle (https://www.humblebundle.com/ – generally around 5 – 6 bundles active, not including the tons of other sale items that aren’t bundles) items in this post; some of which won’t be gaming related. I will update the post during the week as bundles go off sale and new bundles come on sale. I won’t be including all of the sale items on Humble Bundle as it can easily exceed a reasonable amount. The good news is you can save an item that has been on sale to a Wish List and you will be notified if and when it comes on sale again. For example, this game was recently on sale: https://www.humblebundle.com/store/search?sort=bestselling&search=mordor – it requires a birthdate if you click on the only game in the list; the sale is over, but you can add it to your Wish List. I am a fan of Sid Meier’s Civilization computer games: https://www.humblebundle.com/store/search?sort=bestselling&search=civilization (note, not all of the games are for Sid Meier’s Civ series (about half of the games in the link are for Sid’s Civ series (ranging from Civilization III to Civilization VI – some are on sale and some aren’t).

I will also include any crowdsources that are gaming related, from Kickstarter, Patreon, IndieGoGo, GoFundMe, etc. For example, The Fantasy Trip by Steve Jackson on https://thefantasytrip.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders which was previously a Kickstarter project: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sjgames/the-fantasy-trip-old-school-roleplaying.

BackerKit: https://www.backerkit.com/ (for backers of projects and creators)

The Fantasy Trip BackerKit: https://thefantasytrip.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders/ – ends around November 1, 2018. This is a follow-up to The Fantasy Trip Kickstarter project: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sjgames/the-fantasy-trip-old-school-roleplaying.

Tunnels and Trolls Bundle: https://bundleofholding.com/presents/TunnelsAndTrolls – mentioned in an earlier blog post: Bundle of Holding – Tunnels and Trolls RPG Bundles and am in the middle of writing a review of Tunnels and Trolls RPG. Bundles ends October 15, 2018. Update: they added a new item (Tunnels and Trolls 1E, 2013 reprint) to the Gamemaster Collection bundle – if you previously purchased the bundle, it is automatically added to your collection. Updated October 5, 2018: All items are free for what should be the rest of October 2018 on  Trollhalla Press – DriveThru RPG (DTRPG): https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse/pub/9559/Trollhalla-Press?term=trollhall&test_epoch=0 (not an affiliate link) and on RPGNow: https://www.rpgnow.com/browse/pub/9559/Trollhalla-Press?term=Trollhalla&test_epoch=0 (not an affiliate link) You don’t need to order on both sites as RPGNow is part of the DriveThru RPG family and you don’t need to buy one of the Tunnels and Trolls Bundles on Bundle of Holding to get the PDFs free. One of the free downloads includes the Solo Rules for Tunnels and Trolls which is enough for you to get a feel for the game. It is not the full set of rules, but if you go with the Tunnels and Trolls Bundle of Holding: https://bundleofholding.com/presents/TunnelsAndTrolls, the Gamemaster Collection (currently at $19.30) includes the Deluxe Tunnels and Trolls Rulebook (DT&T).

Indiegogo Projects: Gaming related: https://www.indiegogo.com/

Fairytale the Roleplaying Game Indiegogo Project: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/fairytale-the-roleplaying-game/x/19581145#/. I gave more information in this blog post: Fairytale the Roleplaying Game on Indiegogo. Appears to end in a month (so roughly November 11, 2018, will update if the date is earlier or later.

Here’s the blurb from the e-mail I received:

I’m making a new game, Fairytale the Roleplaying Game, which is on Indiegogo right now. It’s a new kind of RPG, because it focuses on the morals of the story very heavily. Failing is not nearly as dangerous or troublesome as going against a moral set by the Narrator. As you play it, there is an additional level of play, where you don’t only think about the consequences of your actions, but also the ramifications in which you make those actions. The answer to the same question might be different in two different games, where the narrator and morals are different.

The game also has a much lighter mood than most games. Dying is almost a nonexistent threat, but your own corruption and accidentally becoming the very thing you’re trying to oppose is the largest threat and the source of most of the trouble in the game.

It will eventually show up on DTRPG and you can also find it on the company’s website once it gets published: https://www.artificergames.com/. The goal is €4,000 and the designer chose flexible goals so it will receive whatever funding (minus Indiegogo‘s fees) it receives.

I think this is one of the more innovative RPGs in a long time and it’s why I chose to add a blog post about it. I plan on doing a blog post on the various crowdfunding options out there and I haven’t done anything with Indiegogo before seeing this e-mail.

Kickstarter Projects – Gaming Related (generally, shipping costs are NOT included if you back a project – so factor those into your budget): https://www.kickstarter.com/

Steve Jackson Games Illuminati Coins Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sjgames/illuminati-coins?ref=friends_launched; ends October 17, 2018 (Wednesday) at 12:01 PM. Additional information will be added on Backerkit when the Kickstarter campaign ends.

This is a game-related project

Project has met the $3,000 goal, but has stretch goal of $6,000 ($4,470 pledged as of October 9, 2018).

Join the conspiracy! From the makers of Illuminati= has a Facebook video in the link :, the classic game of secrets, corruption, and The Truth, comes this set of custom metal coins that work with any game . . . or may be used for any number of other nefarious purposes including (but certainly not limited to):

  • Bribing the local authorities.
  • Gaining entrance into the next meeting of the Secret Masters.
  • As currency in a game of GURPS Illuminati (you’ll want many sets of coins, so that your character can be wealthy).
  • Clinking and clanking against the table to drive your opponents insane during a chess match.
  • As sanity tokens when playing Cthulhu Dice (three sets of Illuminati Coins required, or just make your enemies use the glass stones while you use these fantastic coins).
  • Casually leave them lying on your desk to distress the innocent.
  • Snag two dozen sets and replace the money chits in your Illuminati set with these hefty, metal coins.
  • BONUS: Get 1,000 sets and be the envy of your friends as you swim in a tub of Illuminati Coins!

Patreon Projects: https://www.patreon.com/

None at present. Too many possibilities, but if you search on Patreon, you may find one or more projects that appeals to you.

Here’s a creator who’s on Patreon, Liz Danforth – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liz_Danforth, that works with both The Fantasy Trip and Tunnels and Trolls: https://www.patreon.com/posts/artists-20361636.
