When I checked GroupOn yesterday, FamilyTree DNA (FTDNA) was $65 + shipping and it normally alternates every few days between $64 and $65. Today, it’s $60 + shipping and shows today, October 2, 2018, as the end date for the sale price.
By comparison, on FTDNA – https://www.familytreedna.com/products, it’s $79 + shipping. On Amazon – https://www.amazon.com/Family-Tree-DNA-Genetic-Ancestry/dp/B01NAQ1UCW, it’s $75.99 + free shipping. On MyHeritageDNA (which uses FTDNA to process their kits), it’s $79 + shipping with a free limited transfer to FTDNA. A full transfer upgrade on FTDNA is another $19.00 although you can get a lot with the free limited transfer and sometimes they offer the full upgrade for $10.00.
Most likely the next big sale for FTDNA is going to be Black Friday/Cyber Monday if it follows the sales pattern of recent past years.
FTDNA accepts free limited transfers from several other companies, AncestryDNA, 23andMe (v4 chip and earlier chips, but not the current v5 chip 23andMe uses), in addition to the free limited transfers from MyHeritageDNA.
