Donor-Conceived Son Learns of 1,000 Siblings

I saw this on Facebook, (to read the full article, you have to sign up for a free account). So far, he’s connected to 60 half-siblings through DNA testing out of 1,000. Any promised anonymity to the donor that was made decades ago went out the window as soon as genealogical DNA testing became readily available for $99 or less.

With 23andMe, AncestryDNA, FamilyTree DNA (FTDNA), FindMyPastDNA/LivingDNA, and MyHeritageDNA processing around 15 to 17 million DNA kits for unique individuals, you can expect more of these stories to surface.
