Update on Ancestry Response to PeopleLegacy – LegalGenealogist.com

Thank you to Judy G. Russell, the Legal Genealogist, for an update on the PeopleLegacy – via https://www.legalgenealogist.com/2018/09/25/some-progress-in-findagrave-image-appropriation/situation that I mentioned a few days ago: Why Learning About Copyright Law Is Important: PeopleLegacy.

I checked my mother’s information on PeopleLegacy and there is still a thumbnail of her Find-A-Grave photo with the PeopleLegacy watermark, but it’s no longer on her PeopleLegacy record. The basic information from Find-A-Grave is still there, but as Judy pointed facts can’t be copyrighted, only the way they are presented. I expect the thumbnails will come down at some time in the near future.
