Not Too Early to Register for CoastCon42 March 7 – 10, 2019 Biloxi, Mississippi

I haven’t been to CoastCon for many years, but hope to make it back down there at some point in the not too distant future. You can learn more about CoastCon at http://www.coastcon.org/. This year’s charity is Fisher House of Keesler Air Force Base: http://www.coastcon.org/coastcon-charity-fisher-house/The convention will be held March 7 – 10, 2019 (some places have it starting March 7th, others March 8th) at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center, 2350 Beach Blvd, Biloxi. Mississippi https://www.mscoastconventioncenter.com/default.aspx. In addition to the Facebook links below, you can also follow CoastCon on Twitter: https://twitter.com/CoastConMS, Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/coastconms/. The mascot of CoastCon is Herbie Crab: here’s Herbie on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/herbie.crab. It is a mix of different types of gaming mixed in with a variety of other things.

CoastCon is Mississippi’s longest running and largest science fiction, fantasy and gaming convention. It is the main sponsored event of CoastCon, Inc., a non-profit literary organization. CoastCon, Inc. and its ten-member volunteer board develop events and gatherings to promote reading, education, fellowship, and science fiction, fantasy and gaming in all formats across the Southern United States, for over forty years.

Early registration discount ends November 4, 2018 and can be found http://www.coastcon.org/#/home/register/. It’s $40.00 + $2.99 fee for adults if you register before the deadline; it’s $10.00 more after the early registration ends.

You can view some of the previous conventions on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/CoastConMS or https://www.facebook.com/groups/coastcon/ (it’s a Public group so you can see photos, posts, etc. without joining).

Major guest speakers can be found at http://www.coastcon.org/#/home/speakers/ (scroll through the list under the Guests section). It was many years ago (not sure when, but it would have been 1987 or in the 1995-1997 time frame), but I met Richard Hatch of Battlestar Galactica (BSG) fame at a CoastCon. He was one of the guest speakers. He was trying to revive BSG.
