As part of my daily DNA ritual, I check about two dozen DNA websites and Amazon to see what the price is today. When I visited AncestryDNA a few minutes ago, I was greeted with 40% sale; get AncestryDNA for $59 through August 20, 2018. Looks like they are trying to outdo MyHeritage that has been running a $69 sale on their DNA tests since July 19th. For a better deal, Amazon is price matching the $59 with free shipping (you don’t need Prime to get the free shipping, but Prime will get it to faster; with Prime you can get it in 1 -2 days depending on when you order it; without Prime, it tends to take 5 – 7 business days to receive it); I checked Amazon by starting an order for a kit and free shipping is there, but you have to hunt for it as it’s not the first choice. I updated the Current August 2018 DNA Sales to reflect the AncestryDNA sale.
This sale puts it at the same price as FamilyTree DNA (FTDNA) – on sale for $59 through August 31st; slightly ahead of MyHeritageDNA (on sale for $69 through August 20th), fairly ahead of LivingDNA on sale for $89 through August 31st, and way ahead of 23andMe at $99/$199 since their sale ended yesterday.
