YourDNAPortal

Another DNA company, yourDNAportal has joined the parade. This one allows you to upload your raw data from another company (MyHeritage, FamilyTree DNA aka FTDNA, AncestryDNA, Geno 2.0, 23andMe, LivingDNA, possibly others as you can e-mail them and they will let you know if they can accept it or figure out a way to generate reports from it. From a quick upload attempt, it looks like it only allows one upload per account.

I e-mailed them to see if I can upload more than one kit for an individual, but haven’t heard back yet. I will update when they respond.

They offer Health, Ancestry, Neanderthal (traits) and the results were available as soon as I finished uploading my results. Upload was pretty fast and I was using a hotel Wi-Fi to upload. (some of the results aren’t accurate and I suspect it’s because they are only looking at a small number of markers compared to the total number of markers that influence the various results; unfortunately, experts have a bad habit of assuming a very small number of markers affect things when it will turn out that many more markers actually are involved.

Health includes the following categories: Your traits, Your health risks, Your inherited conditions, Your drug response
